26/01/2023: CIISec Masterclass - Crisis Management
Join us on the 26th January at 4:30pm to hear from CIISec Board Director, Andy Cobbett who will deliver a Masterclass on Crisis/Incident Management.
In today's volatile and evolving threat landscape, the simple truth is that no organisation can safely assume that it is immune from cyber incidents. No matter how strong our preventative controls may be, organisations need to have robust contingencies in place should the worst happen. Whilst we would all like to think that we are prepared and would be able to cope with the unexpected, it’s healthy to question how well we would respond for real.
In this masterclass, Andy Cobbett (Director and Fellow of CIISec) will share his experience of cyber crisis response and implementation of operational resilience. How to prepare for a cyber crisis; how to prevent an issue elevating to a full-blown crisis; how to effectively manage the crisis; and how to recover post-crisis.
About our speaker, Andy Cobbett:
Andy’s career in cybersecurity spans 30 years, during which he has held CISO positions at both BP and the Financial Conduct Authority. He was one of the principal organisers of the first ever joint cyber response exercise across all Oil and Gas majors and has most recently been advising on the FCA’s own internal implementation of their Operational Resilience requirements, combining cyber resilience, physical security, business continuity, IT stability and crisis management.
About our Host, Peter Jones:
Peter Jones is a Cyber Security and Digital Forensics professional working as a CISO with a career covering auditing, digital forensic investigations and incident response. Peter has co-authored a number of CREST-accredited courses and co-founded the South West Cyber Security Cluster.
