Tomorrow's World: Future Skills and Research Solutions
Since its founding by leaders of the Information and Cyber Security profession in 2006, CIISec has been addressing the problem of how to recognise a competent information security practitioner. This track will cover the latest thinking and research on practising competently, maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills and increasing our relevance to the organisations and people we protect and serve.
Digital Disruption: Security on The Front Foot
Businesses constantly evaluate the internal and external factors that could impact profitability, market share and growth. The potential to innovate, the latest market or economic conditions, the capabilities of people and technology and the activities of regulators and competitors are all taken into account. How often can security claim to truly understand and support this context? This track explores the forces disrupting our organisations and how security can help to make sense of both the opportunities and threats.
Innovation to Investment: Solutions for Emerging Requirements
Cyber security solutions have an efficacy problem, and the problem is primarily economic rather than technical. Information asymmetries often prevent buyers from effectively evaluating technology and they incentivise vendors and their investors to bring sub-optimal solutions to the market. Information & Cyber Security may be a broken market, so this track will explore some requirements for innovation while offering ideas and examples for buyers, vendors and investors to work together to solve thorny security problems.
