- Incorporated Engineer (IEng)

IEng recognises professionals who maintain and manage applications of current and developing technology. It demonstrates technical competence, responsibility and professional commitment.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng)

CEng is the highest level of professional engineering registration. It recognises professionals who develop solutions to engineering challenges through innovation, leadership, technical expertise and strategic decision-making.
Membership Requirements

Incorporated Engineer (IEng) applicants must hold a minimum of CIISec Associate membership

Chartered Engineer (CEng) applicants must hold a minimum of CIISec Full membership.
- Once registered the recording of annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a mandatory requirement in line with the Engineering Council CPD Code for Registrants
- Adhere to the CIISec Members Code of Conduct and Ethics
- If you already hold IEng or CEng and meet the above CIISec membership requirements, then you can transfer your registration into CIISec
The CIISec Assessment Process
- Step 1: Confirm your eligibility

Ensure you hold the appropriate CIISec membership grade and meet the underpinning knowledge and understanding requirements through qualifications, training or professional experience.
- Step 2: Submit your application
- Complete your application and provide evidence of your professional experience, responsibilities and continuing professional development.
- Step 3: Professional Review

Demonstrate your competence and commitment against the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence and Commitment (UK-SPEC) through assessment and a professional discussion.
- Step 4: Professional Registration
- Following approval by CIISec's Professional Registration Committee, successful applicants are registered by the Engineering Council as Incorporated Engineers (IEng) or Chartered Engineers (CEng).
