CIISec members can now access Trail, a new platform designed to make recording and managing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) simpler, more intuitive and more useful throughout a cyber security career. Developed by cyber security professionals David Haydock and Jayson Ahmadi, and shaped in partnership with CIISec, Trail has been designed to address many of the challenges professionals face when recording and evidencing CPD activities.
Built with the cyber security community
Like many professionals, Trail’s founders found themselves relying on spreadsheets, screenshots, documents and last-minute administration to demonstrate their professional development each year. Recognising the need for a better approach, they set out to build a platform that allows professionals to record learning and development activities once, evidence them quickly and map them against multiple certifications and professional memberships. CIISec was the first professional body approached by the Trail team and has worked closely with them throughout the platform’s development. Through member pilots, user testing and feedback from experienced practitioners, including several CIISec members, we have helped shape a platform designed specifically for professional communities.

Trail has been developed to provide a modern alternative, enabling professionals to:

- Store supporting evidence and documentation
- Track development across multiple certifications and memberships
- Demonstrate ongoing learning and professional growth
- Maintain a complete record of professional development throughout their career
The platform also includes community features, allowing professionals to connect and discuss key industry topics with verified peers in a professional environment.
Accessing Trail as a CIISec member
Members can access Trail directly from the CIISec Member Area via a dedicated link. If already logged in to the Member Area, they will be taken straight into Trail without needing to sign in again. Their CIISec membership details and any associated post-nominals will be automatically recognised within the platform.
Members can also access Trail directly via the web platform at app.trailai.org or through the iOS and Android apps to enable CPD logging on the move, capturing output in real time. By using the email address associated with their CIISec membership, Trail will recognise you as a CIISec member and prompt you to sign in with your existing CIISec credentials.
Alternative sign-in methods, including Google and Apple, are also available for members who prefer to use them.
