Half-Day Workshop: Trauma Awareness Training for Cyber Security Professionals

About The Event

In partnership with PTSD Resolution

Over half of cyber security professionals are impacted by work stress. The constant vigilance, the pressure of knowing a single mistake could compromise critical infrastructure, and the relentless pace of emerging threats, it all takes its toll.

We’ve partnered with PTSD Resolution (Charity No. 1202649) to bring specialist mental health training directly to our membership. Their TATE programme – Trauma Awareness Training and Education – has been specifically adapted for the cyber security sector.

TATE Half-Day Intensive Workshop

  • Date: Wednesday 11 February 2026
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Format: Online with interactive breakout rooms
  • Invitees: Staff from CIISec Corporate Members

You’ll come away with new skills for recognising trauma, supporting colleagues through difficult periods, and building your own resilience in a demanding profession.

The programme addresses the specific pressures of working in cyber security, from managing the stress of active incidents to supporting team members after a major breach.

The half-day session covers:

  • The mental health continuum and what your brain actually needs to function well
  • How trauma works, and why understanding the mechanics helps people seek help
  • The fight-or-flight response and its connection to anxiety, anger, and impaired decision-making during incident response
  • Links between chronic stress, burnout, sleep problems, depression, and addiction
  • Practical conversation techniques for supporting colleagues who are struggling
  • Strategies for building resilience that actually work in high-pressure operational environments
  • How to access professional support when needed

Throughout the session, you’ll work in breakout rooms on real scenarios relevant to security operations, share experiences in a safe environment, and practise techniques you can use immediately.

Who Should Attend

  • Security professionals who want to better support their teams
  • Line managers and team leads in SOCs, incident response, and security operations
  • HR professionals supporting cyber security teams
  • Anyone working in high-pressure security roles who wants to build personal resilience
  • CISOs and security leaders looking to create a more trauma-informed culture

The Trainer
