Holding an accredited level of membership is a mark of professional excellence, demonstrating expertise, practical experience, and commitment to the highest industry standards. It can enhance career prospects, demonstrate competence and support professional growth. CIISec expects you to sit at the membership grade commensurate with your experience.
The membership does not need to be climbed in order i.e. if you have what it takes to be a Full member, you can put in your application without being an Associate first.
Associate Grade (ACIIS)
If you hold a current CISSP or CompTIA Security X certification, let us know, and we can upgrade you to Associate straight away. You’ll receive a credly badge to display your achievement, and be entitled to carry ACIIS after your name.
If you don’t hold these certifications but have a couple of years’ of cyber security experience you can complete a competency based application form which you’ll be asked to detail your experience in some key skill areas.
Full Member Grade (MCIIS)
Our Full member application is based on competence, and citing your experience in a range of skill areas. A successful form is followed by a professional discussion with two peers, which forms the second part of your application. You’ll receive a credly badge and be entitled to the post-nominals MCIIS.
Upgrades to both Associate and Full membership are available to purchase from the Member Area. Sign in on our website and look for the “upgrade your membership” button.
If you work at a Corporate Member organisation there is no fee to upgrade, and you have the additional opportunity to join our development programmes as a way of upgrading. Please email Julie Howl via membership@ciisec.org for details on how to upgrade.
